Clinical and translational neurology and neuroscience: epilepsy and seizure disorders; neurodegeneration and movement disorders; stroke and cerebrovascular disease; multiple sclerosis and neuro-immunology; neurotrauma and clinical neurophysiology; and well-documented neurology case reports and case series. Who can submit?
Any author with original, ethically conducted neurology or neuroscience research: clinicians, neuroscientists, trainees and academic teams worldwide. There is no requirement to be invited.
Is there a submission fee?
No. There is no charge to submit or to be peer-reviewed. A single article processing charge of $2,100 applies only if your manuscript is accepted.
How fast is the first decision?
We aim for a first decision in about three weeks. You receive an acknowledgement within 72 hours, after which your manuscript enters Single-blind (double-blind on request) peer review by at least two independent experts.
What if I am not sure my manuscript fits?
Email a working title and short abstract to the editorial office and we will tell you whether it is in scope within 48 hours, before you prepare a full submission.
Do you run special issues?
From time to time, when there is a strong topic and a committed guest editor, JNRT runs a focused special issue. See the special issues page for any current call, or propose your own. You can also submit to the current volume at any time.
Is the work open access, and who keeps copyright?
Yes. Every accepted article is published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) licence, authors retain copyright, and each article receives a permanent Crossref DOI discoverable via Google Scholar and OpenAlex.
