Submit JVHC manuscripts through ManuscriptZone. The journal does not use email or the general website upload form as co-equal submission routes. Submission is free; an article processing charge applies only after acceptance.

Scope and format
Confirm that the manuscript addresses veterinary healthcare and fits a supported format: Research Article, Review or Short Communication. Ask the editorial office before selecting another format.
Author agreement
All authors should approve the submitted version, authorship order and accountable contributions. The work must not be under consideration by another journal.
Ethics and consent
Prepare animal-welfare approval details, owner consent for identifiable cases, wildlife permits and any other study-specific oversight evidence.
Data and disclosures
Include a data-availability statement, funding information, competing interests and disclosure of relevant AI-assisted work.

- Main manuscriptUpload a complete manuscript file with title, abstract, keywords, text, references, tables and figure legends as appropriate.
- Cover letterProvide a signed cover letter confirming originality, exclusive consideration, all-author approval and contributions, funding, ethical compliance and APC awareness.
- Figures and supporting filesUpload legible figures and any supplementary material separately when required. Remove unnecessary identifying owner information.
- Reporting materialProvide the appropriate ARRIVE, CONSORT, STROBE or PRISMA checklist when relevant to the study design.
- DeclarationsState data availability, competing interests, funding, ethics approval, consent or permits, and any relevant AI use.

Upload the manuscript and supporting files, review the checklist and submit the complete record.
Use email only for administrative questions. An emailed manuscript is not the primary journal submission record.
After submission
No time promiseEditorial assessment and review
- Technical and scope screeningThe editorial office checks completeness, scope, ethics and reporting documentation. A submission may be returned before peer review when essential information is missing.
- External assessmentEligible manuscripts enter single-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers. Reviewer identities are not disclosed to authors.
- Decision and revisionEditors consider the evidence and reviewer reports. When revision is invited, authors should provide a point-by-point response and identify changes clearly.
- Charges after acceptanceThere is no fee to submit or undergo review. The verified standard APC is approximately US$2,400; the verified student rate is US$999 with valid student identification. Payment does not affect editorial decisions.
