Evidence register
Indexing & Discoverability
JAR articles are identified through a registered serial record and DOI metadata, then may be surfaced by external discovery services. These functions are different from selective indexing, and each status below is linked to dated evidence.

What the categories mean
A service should be described by what it actually does. Registration, discovery, cataloguing and preservation can improve access to the scholarly record, but none should be presented as selective indexing unless the service itself confirms inclusion for this exact journal and ISSN.
- Serial identifier
- A registry record that distinguishes a continuing publication by title and ISSN.
- DOI registration agency
- A service that registers persistent identifiers and bibliographic metadata supplied by a publisher.
- Metadata distribution
- A protocol or feed that exposes bibliographic records for reuse; it does not itself assess or preserve a journal.
- Academic search engine
- An automated search service whose coverage depends on crawling, metadata quality and update cycles.
- Knowledge graph
- An externally maintained network of scholarly entities and relationships assembled from multiple sources.
- Selective index
- A database that applies stated selection criteria before including a journal. Inclusion must be verified directly.
- Library directory
- A catalogue that helps library users locate and access a serial; it is not a citation index.
- Digital preservation
- A managed archive intended to retain scholarly content over time. Participation and processing status require separate evidence.
- Author-sharing platform
- A profile or repository where an author may place a permitted version. One upload does not establish journal-level inclusion.
Verified evidence register
Each entry names its function, the level of coverage confirmed, and the limitation that prevents the record from being overstated. External records may change after the review date.

View official recordHow article metadata travels
The DOI is the stable link between the article record and external discovery systems. The pathway is registration and reuse—not a guarantee that every service will display every field or update at the same time.
Article record
The journal publishes the title, authors, date, citation information and DOI on the version of record.
DOI registration
The DOI and deposited bibliographic metadata are registered with Crossref.
Metadata reuse
External knowledge graphs, catalogues and search tools may retrieve, reconcile and display those records.
Service updates
Coverage and correction timing remain under each external service’s control.
Google Scholar and similar academic search engines may crawl individual articles. Their automated coverage can be incomplete, and this page does not claim comprehensive journal-level inclusion in any search engine.
Selective indexing: what is claimed
No selective database inclusion is currently claimed on this page.
JAR does not claim inclusion in DOAJ, Scopus, Web of Science Core Collection, PubMed/MEDLINE, CAB Abstracts or AGRICOLA. It also does not claim a Journal Impact Factor or CiteScore.
The official DOAJ exact-ISSN query returned no JAR record on 3 August 2026. Review the DOAJ query.
Identity boundary
Journal of Agronomy Research — ISSN 2639-3166
This journal must not be confused with Agronomy Research, ISSN 1406-894X. Similar titles can lead to incorrect indexing, metric or preservation claims if the ISSN is not checked.
Where an external record shortens the title, ISSN 2639-3166 is used here as the identity control.
Digital preservation status
Preservation is reported separately from discovery and indexing.
Open Access Pub participates in Portico. The Portico title record for ISSN 2639-3166 is currently queued for preservation processing.
The record uses a shortened journal title. The exact ISSN match confirms identity. A queued status does not establish that content has completed ingestion or that every article is already preserved.
View the Portico publisher recordUse and correct the scholarly record
Authors, librarians and readers can help reduce identity and metadata errors by treating the DOI record as the reference point.
Link by DOI
Use the DOI as the authoritative persistent link to the published version of record.
Check metadata
Compare the displayed title, author names, journal title and publication date with the Crossref record before reusing a citation.
Update profiles
Authors should update ORCID and institutional profiles directly; presence in one profile does not prove journal-level indexing.
Share permitted versions
Deposit only the version permitted by the journal’s self-archiving policy, and retain the DOI link to the version of record.
