Biography

Dr. Richard Bright (PhD, BSc) is a Research Fellow at Flinders University, Adelaide, South Australia. His research encompasses diverse areas including immunotherapy for metastatic melanoma, mesenchymal and induced pluripotent stem cells in regenerative medicine and dentistry, and the molecular links between periodontal disease and rheumatoid arthritis, with particular focus on carbamylation, citrullination, and the role of Porphyromonas gingivalis peptidylarginine deiminase in disease pathogenesis. Dr. Bright has published over 35 indexed articles, with his most-cited work, "Gallium Liquid Metal: Nanotoolbox for Antimicrobial Applications" (2023), receiving 125 citations. His systematic reviews and meta-analyses have examined clinical response rates to interleukin-2 therapy, periodontal ligament-derived cells for tissue regeneration, and the influence of periodontal treatment on rheumatoid arthritis outcomes.
